It’s funny that the definition many of you thought of first ended up at NUMBER 5……out of 8……..not much more above the Mafia…….

    Since this space is limited, Funk and Wagnalls New Comprehensive International Dictionary of the English Language, Encyclopedic Edition defines family,pl-ies as 1 A group of persons, consisting of parents and their children. 2 The children as distinguished from the parents. 3 A group of persons forming a household, including servants,etc.;a household. 4 A succession of persons connected by blood, name, etc.; a house; line; clan; tribe; race. There are four more, but I think you get the picture. I guess it just makes a difference in which material you wish to get information. I love you.

  2. I guess family is what we define it as, Aunt Kay. For example, it response to Heather’s post – yes, we are family…..not only because we are left handed, but because she chooses to be part of my life as I choose to be part of hers. But what’s amazing about this country and our definitions are the fact that we can have opposing views! Like, for example, not wanting to meet two Russian orphans.
